Sanctuary Homes has been given the green light to deliver 120 new homes in the Essex village of Great Wakering.

Planning permission has been granted to construct a range of one, two, three and four-bedroom properties at Barrow Hall Road. Sanctuary will now finalise plans for the site.

Ideal for first-time buyers and growing families alike, the properties are due to be completed by the Autumn of 2021 and will include homes for affordable rent, shared ownership and outright sale.

Enabling works, including site hoarding, surveys and statutory approvals, are now underway to prepare the site for the construction of the new homes.

Barrow Hall Road is the latest development in the Rochford district by Sanctuary which is also delivering 72 homes on the site of the former Bullwood Hall prison in Hockley.

Residents are also moving into 35 newly completed affordable homes at Three Acres in Canewdon.

Sarah Brind, Sanctuary’s Head of Development – South, said: “We’re pleased to have secured planning permission for the development of these new homes which strengthens our commitment to boosting the local housing market.”
