The next steps to your home buying journey

To be eligible to purchase a shared ownership property at The Westcliffs, you must:

  • Have a combined household income under £80,000.
  • Not own property, or a share of a property at the time of completing the purchase of your new shared ownership home.
  • Have a good credit history.
  • Have a minimum of £5,000 to cover the costs of buying a home.

Priority will be given to applicants who have a connection to Essex.

To purchase a new-build shared ownership property at The Westcliffs, you will need to show on the application that there is a local connection. For example: 

  • Being a resident (or employed within) the Essex region over a period of 2 years.
  • Family connections such as a parent, grandparent, child, grandchild or adult sibling that have lived in the area for at least three years.

As part of our application process, we must carry out an affordability assessment and to enable us to do so, you will be asked to provide documents to support the application.
